The ability to read, write, speak, and listen in a way that lets an individual communicate effectively is necessary for living in community. Lacking vital literacy skills tremendously holds a person back and makes them vulnerable. Illiteracy is common among low-income families and Dorcas’ Way fully understands the plight of these vulnerable individuals.
Our first step is to evaluate each prospective client to measure their proficiency in reading and writing. This will enable us to easily determine where to place the client in the program. We will not disqualify any individual regardless of level of education. We want our clients to know they are not alone, and we are here to help them achieve their goals.
